Initiate Immigration South Africa - Permanent Residence visa
In general most of the visa's granted to foreigners living and working in South Africa by default gives you temporary residence. However under some circumstances candidates may choose to immigrate to South African on a permanent basis, if this is the required result then as a foreign national you will need to apply for and qualifying for a permanent residency permit.
Permanent resident status provides successful applicants with many of the same privileges and rights which South African citizens except for one right - the right to vote in any South African election.
Under certain types of work and business permits as a foreign national you will be able to apply for and receive a permanent residence permit the Republic of South Africa.
The substantive requirements of the two permits are identical, application procedures and processing time, however differ significantly.
